Teeth cleanser in Ayurveda


Haritaki, botanical name is Terminalia Chebula.

It is also found in the classical text in Hindi as Hara,in Bengali,Arab,Halilaj and in Urdu Haejarad.

It's a fruit from a large tree. It is native to India from one end to the other. In the database on Medicinal Plants used in Ayurveda Volume Three there are nineteen actions recorded.

It has has the taste qualities of sweet, bitter,astringent and sour.

Ayurvedic research exclaims the fruit as a rasayana. it cleans the subtle body channels. It has bitter and and hot potency so it increases the enzymes of the tissues. It breaks down the sticky tissue that blocks the channels and allows the nutrients to enter into the tissue. In India it is used as a teeth cleanser and a herb used to strengthen the gums.

The fruit is also called Shiva. Lord Shiva the third God in Hindu Godhead Trinity. Shiva is the diety of the people. Shiva has eight qualities: independence, purity,self-knowledge, omniscience, freedom,boundless and bliss. Invoke Shiva when taking it gives the fruit the added power of Shiva power
